Kelby J. Derenick
Kelby received his undergraduate degree at the University of Washington and Juris Doctorate degree from Gonzaga University School of Law in Spokane. While attending law school, he served as an Associate Editor on the Gonzaga Law Review.
Kelby has almost a decade of experience in real estate law. During his time practicing in Seattle, he represented property owners, developers, real estate management firms, realtors, landlords, homeowner associations and condominium associations. Kelby has litigated a wide range of real estate matters involving boundary line disputes, easements, quiet title cases, disputes arising from the purchase and sale of real property, landlord/tenant actions, foreclosures and issues arising from the management of homeowner/condominium associations.
In addition to being admitted to practice in Washington, Kelby is also a member of the California State Bar. While in California, Kelby practiced in insurance defense, where he defended property owners in lawsuits involving premises liability and represented building suppliers in construction defect cases. Kelby was more than eager to join the Basalt Legal team to assist the Walla Walla community in real estate matters.
