Guardian ad Litem, now known as a Court Visitor

In the guardianship context, a court visitor is a neutral third party required by law to investigate the petition and make a recommendation to the court.  Among other duties, the court visitor is responsible for obtaining a medical examination of the alleged incapacitated person.  The court visitor must submit a written report to the court about the examination and other relevant facts.
